Benefits for Your Mind and Body with Water Fountains
Sara was known by friends and colleagues for her in depth knowledge of health – she was the go-to for questions on nutrition, exercise, yoga and stress relief. It was not just the fact that Sara was a personal trainer and yoga teacher that people asked her advice. It was also that she had a genuinely healthy glow, happy demeanor and explained her ideas and information clearly. When one client, Pamela, visited Sara in her home, she looked around and understood why Sara worked in the field she did. The house seemed to have little touches that others might overlook when decorating their own homes, but that made a crucial difference: windows opened and ceiling fans running gently so air could circulate, fresh flowers, plants and greenery in every room, and the soothing sound of a babbling brook. Where was the noise coming from? Sara pointed out her wall mounted fountain, with water constantly flowing and the light catching it to create a beautiful effect. “Water fountains are great for your health,” Sara told Pamela. “They help your physical health, and they also help you to be more focused and more relaxed.”
Sara explained how wall fountains naturally humidify the air around them. The humidification of air in turn helped your respiratory defenses, helping to fight flu and sore throats and ward off sickness. The water also helped to improve air quality. Water releases negative ions, clinging to dust and impurities and pulling particles down to be vacuumed up later. The water fountain helped to reduce harm from allergens and it also helped to keep the air smelling fresh and clean. “It’s bringing the positive benefits of water indoors. It helps you physically,” Sara said. “But it’s good for your mind, too.”
The sound of running water was an aid in relaxing and focusing, Sara said. Fountains created a white noise that blocked background sounds from traffic outside or from noisy neighbors in the street. “The noise of the fountain keeps me focused on what I’m doing, whether it’s cooking or exercising; it eliminates distractions.” water fountains made any room more peaceful, bringing the feeling of a mountain stream or a tropical waterfall into the home. “The sound of running water relieves stress,” Sara told Pamela. “Why do you think people go to the ocean or waterfront for vacation? The noise of water triggers a positive reaction in the mind.” Sara explained how for her, the sound of water soothed her worries and helped her to relax when she came home after the workday. She recommended wall fountains for many of her clients to help them relax and focus at home or work, and they all were pleased with the results.
There were many styles of water fountain if Pamela was interested in getting one, Sara told her. Copper, stainless steel, stone and ceramic styles were all available, so no matter what type of décor in your home or office, there would be a fountain to complement it. There were many different types including free standing fountains, wall mounted or table top, so whatever space you had available in any given room, you could fill it with a fountain. A wall mounted fountain could take up an empty wall, a free standing fountain could make a focal point in an entryway or large room, and a table top fountain could fit in even the smallest of kitchens or offices.
“I even turn the fountain into an aromatherapy experience,” Sara told Pamela. All it took was putting in a few drops of scented oil. Difference scents produced different responses: lavender aided relaxation and sleep, while pine, peppermint and citrus helped with concentration. Sandalwood created a romantic mood. Whatever the occasion, Sara used the water fountain to enhance the atmosphere of the house and boost her well-being even more.
It wasn’t just that Sara clearly knew what she was talking about. It was also that the fountain looked beautiful and the sound of running water brought Pamela to a pleasing sensation of being in nature. As she left she knew that her next step in boosting her own well being would be to bring the benefits of water indoors with wall fountains.
